Make your smartphone dumb.

Harrison's Apple Watch has been struggling so Jess and I have decided to (shudder) get him a phone. We've been trying to avoid this as long as possible but here we are.

Apple's kid friendly settings basically amount to Screen Time which is a convoluted mess. Luckily I came across an article that details how to use Assistive Access to set up the phone exactly how you want.

Go to: Settings > Accessibility > General > Assistive Access.

From there you can select only the apps you want to appear on the iPhone. If you select Messages or Calls you can choose to only allow communication from their contact list. On the Music app you can select to allow certain playlists.

This should work great until Harrison uses AI to figure out how to jailbreak it on the first day. Progress!
